As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, family members of those who are stranded in the war-torn country are spending sleepless nights here in Rourkela.
Although the Centre has started the evacuation process, parents of students, especially of those who are stuck in east Ukraine, rue the government "apathy".
Sources said a group of parents assembled at Sector 4 area here on Saturday and discussed the possible solution on the issue.

They decided to meet Rourkela ADM soon and submit a list of stranded students.
"There has been serious threat for the students who are stranded in Ukraine," said Sudhnya Kumar Jena, father of Saloni Jena, a fifth-year medical student of Kharkiv National Medical University.
"Thank God that the telephone connections are still intact and we are able to communicate with our children till now. But the news we are getting from Ukraine is really horrifying," Jena added.
The parents anticipate that given the present situation, the students will face massive food and water crisis in the war-hit nation.
Prasanta Kumar Samal, father of Pratikshya Samal, is a first-year medical student in KNMU, also expressed his displeasure over the government's "inaction" over rescuing the students from Ukraine. "There has been no effort from the government so far to rescue those in east Ukraine," said Samal.
"The rescue process has begun only for those who are stranded in west Ukraine," Samal said. He alleged that there has been a failure of intelligence by the government, since the evacuation process should have been started before the beginning of war.
